History of Mason Home Inspections

Mason Home Inspections has a proud and distinguished family legacy, one that stretches back more than a century. Our story began in 1921 with the founding of A. Mason Roofing in Toronto, Canada. Established by Mr. Arthur Mason, an English tradesman who had recently immigrated to Canada, A. Mason Roofing quickly earned a reputation for craftsmanship, integrity, and dependability. Arthur Mason built the company on traditional values: hard work, honest communication, and an unwavering commitment to quality. These principles became the bedrock upon which future generations would build.

In 1979, the company passed to Arthur Mason’s grandson, Mr. Kevin Cocks, who continued to grow and diversify the family business. Under Kevin’s leadership, Mason Roofing expanded into broader residential construction and improvement aspects. Over time, family members branched into specialized trades including engineering, window and door installation, home renovations, and general home repairs. Each new direction was guided by the same core belief: to provide homeowners with exceptional service, reliable workmanship, and a lasting sense of trust.

Through decades of working in old and new homes, the Mason family understood that a solid home inspection is a critical safeguard for homeowners and investors. Identifying issues early and providing honest assessments helped protect clients’ investments and avoid costly surprises in the future. With this realization, it became clear that adding home inspection services would not just complement the family’s experience, it would complete it.

Today, Mason Home Inspections is proudly based in Center City, Minnesota, and led by Brandon Palmer, the son-in-law of Kevin Cocks, and Tamara Cocks, Kevin’s daughter. Brandon, a U.S. military veteran (USAF), is a Minnesota-licensed residential contractor (#BC807583) and a graduate of the American Home Inspectors Training (AHIT) Institute, one of the nation’s leading home inspection schools. Brandon and Tamara bring a unique combination of technical expertise, real-world construction knowledge, and personalized service to every inspection.
